Last night on AEW Dynamite, the main event was an Unsanctioned Lights Out Match between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa. The match was arguably unlike anything seen in mainstream women’s wrestling ever. Blood and thumbtacks were the highlights, along with levels of violence that exceeded those at the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at AEW Revolution.
One of the biggest criticisms of AEW has been the treatment of their Women’s division. Along with this and under delivering other recent claims of violence, this is exactly what was needed to put Dynamite back in a positive light.
