WWE has revealed the remaining matches in The Last Time is Now Tournament, which will see the winner face John Cena in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
The remaining first-round matches took place on the November 21 SmackDown, which saw Carmelo Hayes defeat Bronson Reed and Penta defeat Finn Balor to each advance to the next round. During the show, the bracket was also unveiled, meaning that fans now know the remaining fixtures in the ongoing tournament.
The first quarterfinal matches will take place on the November 24 Raw, and the remaining second round matches will be on the Survivor Series go-home show on November 28. The last 8 matchups are as follows:
Left side:
- Jey Uso vs. Rusev
- LA Knight vs. Opponent TBA [was originally set to be Sheamus, but Sheamus is now out with injury]
Right side:
- Penta vs. Solo Sikoa
- Gunther vs. Carmelo Hayes
It should be noted that the left side matches took place at the November 28 SmackDown taping, where Sheamus’ replacement was also revealed.
At the time of writing, it is unknown when the finals of the tournament will take place.
Winner Of John Cena Tournament To Also Challenge For Gold?
Following the events that took place earlier in the month, it is possible that the winner of The Last Time is Now Tournament may receive more than the honour of being Cena’s final opponent. As Cena is currently the Intercontinental Champion after defeating Dominik Mysterio on the November 10 Raw, it is likely that the title would be on the line if Cena remains the champion heading into Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cena will put the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series: WarGames.
