“It’s time to shake things up again!” The immortal quote from Vince Mcmahon in the early 2000’s signified the mixing up of rosters to create new feuds and freshen up television to boost ratings. With most matchups repeated to now exhaustion, a draft could not come soon enough. With Friday October 9th being night one and Monday October 12th being night two of the draft, expect some surprise names moving brands. Here are some bold predictions ahead of the two night event. Please note the following assumptions are in place.
- NXT is not involved. With no advertisement confirming this, the predictions will just be focusing on RAW and Smackdown. Lately, superstars moving to/from NXT are more spontaneous and without explanation.
- All champions will remain where they are. Past drafts and shakeups have seen mid-card champions switch brands. Currently, Bobby Lashley is involved with the hurt business and Retribution. It doesn’t seem likely they will be splitting up for the sake of switching brands. Also, when recently drafted champions switch brands it makes PPV matches too predictable.
Heavy Machinery to RAW

This one is bittersweet. The initial few weeks will be the reconciliation of Otis and recently drafted Mandy Rose. Once fan support is back at a high Otis could then cash his Money in the Bank contract against a heel champion, presumably Randy Orton. Expect an uncomfortable squash match to generate some heel heat for the new WWE champion. Once Otis recovers, heavy machinery can focus on the tag team titles. With injuries to both Ivar of The Viking Raiders and Angel Gaza, The Street profits need new title contenders and soon.
Alistair Black to Smackdown

With no title matches and no direction after the Kevin Owens fued, what next for Alistair black? There are some great potential matches for Black on the blue brand. Who wouldn’t want to see Black vs Matt Riddle or Black vs Big E? Then there is the dark possibilities of a match with the fiend. It would be great to see Wyatt have an opponent who shows no fear whatsoever.
Sasha Banks to RAW

For weeks Banks has been trying to get her revenge on Bayley with mixed results. There is a title match this Friday on Smackdown. Prediction is that the match ends in a count out or DQ. Banks is then drafted and can’t get her hands on her former friend. This is the motivation to win the women’s royal rumble or be part of team RAW’s Survivor series team.
Peyton Royce to Smackdown

The IIconics have been forced to break up as a team but still appear to be together. Drafting Royce to the blue brand would confirm the break up. There are rumours in the dirtsheets that Payton is due a singles push in the near future.
Braun Strowman to RAW

With The Fiend being the next challenger for Roman Reigns’s title after Jey Uso, there isn’t a lot left for Braun to do on Smackdown right now. Drafting him to RAW could reignite the feud started with Dabba-Kato on Raw underground a few weeks ago. Expect lots of destructive backstage spots and possibly a respectful union coming out of it. The two could then form a monster tag team and dominate the division for the near future.
The Mysterio family to Smackdown

The recent storyline with Buddy Murphy and Rey’s Daughter Aalyah has not been received well by fans and the press. It’s for the best to draft the family away to Smackdown and try and forget this angle ever happened. Plus think of the matches Dominik could have with the likes of Sami Zayn, AJ Styles or John Morrison. Also, once Rey heals up, it would be a feel good story to see a father and son win the tag team titles together. Mysterios vs Cesaro and Nakamura could be a show stealer on any card.
