Big E has elaborated further on still being a part of the WWE team despite not being cleared to wrestle.
It has now been more than 3 years since the former WWE Champion competed in a match. While unable to get cleared due to suffering a broken neck back in 2022, Big E has regularly appeared at major WWE shows as one of the panellists on the pre- and post-shows. Much like his time in the ring, the former World Champion has been very entertaining on the shows and has been a welcome addition to the team.
While speaking with The Sporting Tribune, the broadcaster admitted that he never intended to make the transition to an analyst role in wrestling but is enjoying the new career path:
“It’s interesting because I never really had designs on being a broadcaster. I was ut with a neck injury for a while and they [WWE] called me to be part of the press conference in Vegas with The Rock a year or so ago. That was a lot of fun, I said, you know what, I’ll keep doing this as long as it’s fun. So, I’ve enjoyed it.”
Continuing, Big E added that as long as the job continues to be fun, then he wants to remain a part of the company:
“It’s such an interesting time in the industry with TKO taking over and all these pieces being shuffled about now. But I’m realy enjoying it and I get to work with some great broadcast partners. As long as it continues to be fun, I still wanna be here.”
Big E Has Accepted In-Ring Career May Have Ended Prematurely
Although fans remain hopeful that the former New Day member could return for one more run, it is looking more and more likely that the former World Champion will not be getting back in the ring due to his quality of life being at risk. At the end of 2024, Big E spoke about his wrestling career and stated that he was at peace if his time as an active performer had come to an end.
