Mr. Iguana became an unlikely hit over WWE Money in the Bank weekend, and the promotion has taken notice of the popularity.
Competing in the opening match of the Worlds Collide event in Los Angeles on June 7th, the AAA star teamed with Octagón Jr. and Aero Star to defeat the LWO’s Dragon Lee and Cruz Del Toro, and Lince Dorado. Receiving a great reaction from the fans, Mr. Iguana was among the AAA stars in the Money in the Bank crowd the following evening. Receiving one of the best reactions of the night, the former AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion was also a hot topic of conversation online.
As has been seen many times in the past, WWE are always open to capitalising on the popularity of other stars in wrestling and beyond to boost their own brand. According to a recent report, it appears that the AAA star is likely to make even more appearances.
Mr. Iguana May Appear On WWE TV Soon
More information on the wrestler’s recent appearances has been reported on by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select. It was noted that the reaction internally to Mr. Iguana was “we have to get him to the Intuit Dome for a Money in the Bank appearance”, following his match at Worlds Collide and one NXT source indicated that they will be pushing for the AAA star to make an appearance on the developmental brand.
It is also noted that when the AAA star was sat behind commentary, he was approached for dozens of pictures by fans and was also said to be very easy to work with by company higher-ups. Additionally, there has also been discussions on the possibility of developing iguana puppets as part of a merchandise line.
