Those within WWE were not the biggest fans of a recent Rhea Ripley segment.
During the October 29th broadcast of NXT, Zaria, Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace all stood tall over Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade, Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx, setting up a 10-woman tag team match the following week at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia. Later that night, Ripley was seen in the babyface locker room and wished the team well next week, adding that the women’s division in the company is stacked right now.
Later in the show, company officials were seen rushing to the parking lot as Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez briefly walked past holding weapons. When Ripley was seen in shot, the former Women’s Champion was barely conscious and bloody. With blood rarely used, especially in women’s angles, some backstage reportedly expressed concern.
As reported by Corey Brennan of Fightful Select, while the segment did garner scrutiny backstage, it was ultimately approved by a ‘higher power’, meaning Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Lee Fitting or a CW executive green-lit the segment.
Rhea Ripley Set To Remain In WWE
With multiple contracts expiring in 2024, WWE has been actively looking at re-signing the top stars to multi-year deals to prevent any contract talks with the competition. According to a recent report, Rhea Ripley is set to or has signed a huge deal.
