Asuka Presented With New WWE Women’s Championship Design

Another championship has had a makeover.

Following the WWE Draft taking place in late April and early May, each brand would draft the other brand’s Women’s Champion, meaning that SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley being a part of Raw, and then Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair being drafted to SmackDown.

At the Night of Champions PLE, Asuka would defeat Belair to capture the title. On the June 9th edition of SmackDown, Adam Pearce would appear to present Asuka with a new championship, now recognising The Empress as the WWE Women’s Champion.

With no time to celebrate, Asuka was interrupted by a returning Charlotte Flair, who hasn’t been seen since losing the title to Ripley at WrestleMania 39. A title match was made official for the June 30th episode of SmackDown, which will be taking place in London, England.

Asuka now joins Roman Reigns as a champion with a recently revamped design.
