RevPro owner Andy Quildan has elaborated on the decision to remove one of the matches from the MyAEW feed.
Looking to get as many eyes as possible on the Wembley Arena show over All In weekend, the 14 Year Anniversary show was streamed on MyAEW as well as the RevPro on Demand app. However, when it came time for the Leon Slater vs. Liam Slater match, those who were watching on MyAEW were unable to see it. With Leon Slater being signed to TNA, which has an affiliation to TNA, there were suspicions that showing a TNA star on an AEW feed may cause issues.
Although it was initially suspected that TNA President Carlos Silva made the decision, it was later revealed that the call came from Quildan himself. Dave Metlzer added that the decision was not influenced by any other companies.
While speaking with POST Wrestling, Quildan was asked if this could continue with future TNA stars being seen on the MyAEW feed:
“I’m not sure, to be honest,” he said. “I was trying to make everyone’s life as easy as possible. My role, as an independent wrestling promoter, has always been to get the match in the ring to try and have foresight. You try to envision every single problem that could occur before it becomes a problem. And the last thing we want is for anything to become an issue on the day, or post-show, or anything like that. And it’s crazy; with the benefit of hindsight, maybe we did the wrong thing, because that almost created more attention on the situation. I think, as we do with everything, we have to learn, we have to evolve, we have to adapt and move forward.”
Andy Quildan Wants To Be On The Good Side Of Everyone
Continuing, Quildan stated that he wasn’t looking to get involved with any wrestling politics, adding that he remains focused on RevPro and not “trying to sneak into places”:
“I don’t want to be involved in any wrestling politics. I always say, we are open to do good business with anyone. I know in business it’s almost impossible, especially when there’s so much tribalism that goes around, but I want to be on the good side of everyone. And I want everyone to know that when they do business with us, we will do good business and we will try and do best by the company, and I don’t want anything to be received as, we’re trying to sneak people into places.”
