Aleister Black Returns To WWE On SmackDown

Aleister Black is officially back in WWE after months of rumours about his return to the company.

Black made his return on the SmackDown after WrestleMania, targeting The Miz with his attack. The Miz appeared in the ring and complained about how he was left off the WrestleMania card despite his accomplishments and the fact that 2 matches were changed on short notice due to injury. At this point the lights went out and the familiar NXT entrance music of Black hit. Black made his entrance, said nothing and hit Miz with a Black Mass to close out the segment.

It was later announced that Black would take on The Miz on the May 2nd episode of SmackDown in what will be his first WWE match in 4 years.

Black was released from his WWE contract back in 2021 and went on to debut in AEW as Malakai Black. The debut was shocking as Balck appeared in AEW just 30 days after his release and not the expected 90 days due to his contract not being updated. Teaming wth Brody King and Buddy Matthews to form the House of Black, the trio captured the Trios Championship while with the promotion. Black was released from his contract back in February 2025, which many believed to be the set up for his eventual WWE return.

Aleister Black Is Latest WWE Return

Black is the latest former AEW star to make the jump back to WWE after Rusev did the same earlier in the week. The former Miro made his onscreen return on the Raw after Mania, attacking Alpha Academy to stand tall.
