Kenny Omega has given the fans some encouraging news amid multiple members of the AEW roster sidelined for the foreseeable future with injury.
The former AEW World Champion last competed at Forbidden Door, a show which saw both Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay written off TV after being attacked after their respective matches. Since then, Strickland has undergone successful knee surgery and Ospreay is set for enck surgery soon.
I the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that was published on Aagust 29, Dave Meltzer spoke about the AEW injuries with Will Ospreay “likely out for a long time,” Swerve Strickland “out for some time,” and Omega “battling very serious pain.”
With a social media account posting the quote concerning Omega, the EVP responded that everyone is in some pain, but the fans should not worry about him.
“Everybody is in some way, right?,” Omega wrote in response to the claim that he’s battling serious pain. “Let’s not worry about me, we got work to do next week! I’ll be fine.”
Kenny Omega Part Of Criticially Acclaimed Match At AEW Forbidden Door
The Omega match at Forbidden Door saw The Cleaner team with Kota Ibushi, Will Ospreay, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Darby Allin to take on Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Gabe Kidd and The Young Bucks in a lights out steel cage match. The violent affair saw the typical brutality and high spots that AEW fans have come to expect from the atch, with the babyfaces going over when all was said and done.
On top of being well-received by the fans, the match was also rated 5* by Meltzer in the Newsletter.
