AEW Interested In Working With Mick Foley

Could Mick Foley become the latest WWE Hall of Famer to be a part of AEW?

As reported by Jon Alba of The TakeDown on SIsources within All Elite Wrestling have stated that there is a chance that The Hardcore Legend could add AEW to his resume soon. The report notes that they are unsure in what capacity the 60-year-old former World Champion would be used, or if this would be a one-off appearance or something more.

While not seen on WWE TV for years, Foley has remained a part of the company under a legends deal. The agreement sees veterans given pay for the use of their likeness in video games and merchandise, while also allowing the stars to use their WWE names at appearances.

However, in late 2025, Foley announced that he would be ending his relationship with WWE. Citing the company’s relationship with US President Donald Trump as the main factor, Foley stated that Trump’s comments on Rob Reiner’s death were “the final straw for me.”

Stating that he would not sign another legends deal, Foley’s contract is set to expire in June.

Foley has not participated in a match since his appearance in the 2012 Royal Rumble. Foley was one of the run-ins during The Sandman’s retirement match over WrestleMania 42 weekend. The ECW icon faced The Invisible Man in his last match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break.

Will The Previously Pitched Mick Foley Match Happen In AEW?

Foley previously stated that he was looking to have one more match to mark his 60th birthday. However, due to health concerns, plans to have the match were dropped. At an Inside The Ropes live show, Foley spoke about possible plans for a match with former AEW World Champion MJF:

“You know the promo Cane Dewey?” Foley asked. “He [MJF] was literally going to Cane Dewey. He was going to beat up my son on television and I was going to come back looking for vengeance.”

MJF will be in action at Double or Nothing, as he will challenge Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship. If MJF loses the match, he will be shaved bald.
