AEW Forbidden Door 2025 Predictions

AEW Forbidden Door 2025 Predictions

All Elite Wrestling returns to the UK with AEW Forbidden Door 2025.

The third AEW pay-per-view to take place in the UK will also see the promotion make its debut in the iconic O2 Arena in London, which will also have a strong British presence. Along with IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. putting his title on the line against Nigel McGuinness, the show will also see Alex Windsor challenge for the TBS Championship as part of a 4-way match and Will Ospreay and Gabe Kidd on opposite sides in a steel cage match.

In what is likely to be the main event, Adam Page will put the AEW World Championship on the line against MJF.

AEW Forbidden Door 2025 Predictions

Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Swerve Strickland For The AEW Unified Championship

Kazuchika Okada has been continually booked strongly ever since his arrival in AEW back in 2024, and as such is now the longest-reigning champion in company history. With a victory over Kenny Omega back at All In and already established as one of the all-time greats, it feels like now is the right time to have Okada drop the title. With Strickland seemingly out of the World Title picture for the time being, he needs a big win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Toni Storm (c) vs. Athena For The AEW Women’s Championship

One of the more difficult matches on the card to predict. If this Athena’s time then she needs to be featured on Dynamite a lot more as the ROH Women’s Champion remains underutilised on TV. While it can be argued that Athena still remains the ROH Champion if she loses, it remains unknown who is next for Storm. While Athena would make a great double champion for both brands, it feels like Storm will finally get a win in London.

Winner: Toni Storm

Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi For The TNT Championship

While this will be a strong contender for match of the night, the result is in no doubt here. Fletcher has only just won the championship and looks set to begin a long run of great matches to elevate the title. Don Callis Family interference is likely, but there is no way that Flectcher is losing this one.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher

Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Nigel McGuinness For The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship

Given that the show is taking place in London, it does feel special that 2 British wrestlers will be facing off in O2, especially as the prestigious top title in NJPW is on the line. With the match set to be much more technical compared to the high-flying offerings in the other match, this will be a showcase in what British wrestling is all about. However, with Sabre Jr. on top, the champions’ reign will continue here as McGuinness continues his comeback run.

Winner: Zack Sabre Jr.

Adam Copeland And Christian Cage vs. Kip Sabian And Luchasaurus

For the first time in 14 years, Copeland and Cage are back together again in what will be a nostalgia-filled affair with the entire arena behind them. This match feels like the lock of the night with the veterans almost guaranteed to emerge the victors, even if the last-minute addition of Luchasaurus stacks the deck in favour of the heels. This will likely lead to a future Tag Team Championship match to signal the beginning of their final few months. Both Copeland and Cage don’t have a lot of matches left in them, and them teaming together one final time feels right.

Winners: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage

The Hurt Syndicate (c) vs. FTR vs. Brodido – 3-Way Match For The AEW Tag Team Championships

All signs are pointing to a title change here. On one hand, the direction looks to be a future match between FTR and Cope & Christian, and adding the tag titles would make the match feel even bigger! Additionally, as this is now a 3-way match, The Hurt Syndicate can lose the match and not be pinned. While Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin will be dominant, this looks to be another reign for FTR.

Winners: FTR

Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Alex Windsor vs. Persephone vs. Bozilla For The TBS Championship

Mercedes Mone currently has 8 championships, and could win a 9th at the RevPro show set to take place 2 nights prior. Still in her belt collector phase, Mone looks to be in little danger of losing the TBS Title here. With the championship highly unlikely to go to CMLL or Stardom, only Alex Windsor could realistically win the championship. But for 8 belts Mone, this reign will continue.

Winner: Mercedes Mone

Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi), Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, And Will Ospreay vs. Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli And Jon Moxley), The Young Bucks  and Gabe Kidd – Lights Out Steel Cage Match

One thing is certain in this match: chaos. Expect to see high spots, brutality and everything in between in a match where anything goes and everyone is locked inside a steel cage. With this being Darby Allin’s first match back, Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final UK match and Will Ospreay in action in the UK, this feels like it might be another feel-good win for the babyfaces. While it is unlikely to be on the level of Anarchy in the Arena earlier in the year, this will still be one that lovers of violence will enjoy!

Winners: Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi, Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, And Will Ospreay

Adam Page (c) vs. MJF For The AEW World Championship

Both men have history that stretches back all the way to the start of AEW. Now that MJF has cashed in his World Championship opportunity, the former World Champion does not have his backup to try and sneak out with the title. Expect MJF to use every underhanded tactic possible, but fail to get the job done. Page needs a more solid reign the second time around, and a win over MJF is a great way to start.

Winner: Adam Page

AEW Forbidden Door will air live on multiple pay-per-view platforms on August 24.
