AEW and NJPW stars faced off on the June 24 Dynamite to continue the build to Forbidden Door.
June 28 will once again see AEW, NJPW, CMLL and STARDOM wrestlers face off as part of the crossover event. Announced ahead of time, Mistico and Brodido faced The Deathriders, Will Ospreay was in action against El Phantasmo, and Zack Sabre Jr. faced Jack Perry.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness were on commentary for the show.
AEW Dynamite Results June 24:
- The Deathriders defeated Brodido and Mistico.
- Team Mark Briscoe spoke about their upcoming cagematch with Team MJF at Forbidden Door.
- Harley Cameron defeated Marina Shafir to advance to the Survival of the Fittest match. The winner of that match will be the new TBS Champion.
- Will Ospreay defeated ELP.
- Swerve Strickland defeated Daniel Garcia. After the match, Strickland went to leave, but looked to attack Garcia’s arm. Ospreay made the save. Ospreay took Strickland down, was going to hit Hidden Blade, but Prince Nana tripped out the leg and Strickland flew in with a House Call. Strickland went for a Vertebreaker, Garcia saved Ospreay and took the move. Ospreay came back in with a chair as Strickland and Nana bailed.
- Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Jack Perry.
- The Young Bucks defeated TMDK. Zack Sabre Jr. returned for a post match attack until Kenny Omega made the save. Omega claimed that he would make everyone forget about Sabre Jr. on Sunday, while Sabre retorted that Omega should stay out of the hospital.
- Queen Aminata defeated Red Velvet to advance to the Survival of the Fittest match.
- Adam Copeland and Christian Cage brawled with Clark Connors and David Finlay backstage. The challengers choked out the champions.
- Konosuke Takeshita defeated Ricochet to retain the AEW International Championship.
- Team Briscoe and Team MJF brawled to close out the show, with Team Briscoe standing tall.
