The first AEW Dynamite since All In: Texas, the July 16 episode focused heavily on the fallout from the biggest show of the year.
Coming off the heels of the newsworthy All In show, new World Champion Adam Page officially kicked off the show to address his victory and what’s next for him in AEW. Additionally, a $100k 4-way match was booked for the show and Women’s Champion Toni Storm spoke about her victory over Mercedes Mone at All In.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz were on commentary for the show.
AEW Dynamite Results: July 16
- New World Champion Adam Page appeared live after being introduced by Tony Schiavone. The crowd chanted “You deserve it” at Page, but Page stated that it was the fans who actually deserved it. The segment has no interruptions and focused more on the celebration as opposeed to fuelling the storyline.
- Kyle Fletcher defeated Mascara Dorada.
- The Young Bucks, Hechicero and Josh Alexander defeated JetSpeed, Bandido and Brody King.
- Adam Copeland vowed to take out FTR, but Stokely Hathaway said that he would be fired if he did. Cope speared Hathaway.
- Thekla defeated Queen Aminata, Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander to win the $100k 4-way.
- “Timeless” Toni Storm hosted her victory speech, but was interrupted by Athena, who warned the champion that she was coming for her.
- Kazuchika Okada defeated Rafael Quintero. Okada called out Swerve Strickland after the match, and Strickland stared down Okada.
- Adam Page, Powerhouse Hobbs and Mark Briscoe defeated Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. The Deathriders tried to attack Page after the match, but Darby Allin provided the distraction to allow the babyfaces to stand tall.
