Adam Page has realised his destiny, won the AEW World Championship, and brought Jon Moxley’s reign of terror to an end.
Competing in the main event of All In: Texas on July 12, Page defeated Moxley in a brutal Texas Death Match to win the title for the second time in his career. As advertised, the match was bloody, brutal and filled with run-ins. On top the use of forks, a chain and even a bed of nails, Darby Allin made his return for the first time in months and Bryan Danielson also made a cameo appearance.
Mox bled heavily from the outset after being attacked with a fork by Page and Marina Shafir interfered multiple times throughout. A barbed wire chair then came into play to allow Moxley to take control.
The run-ins began when Moxley called for a plastic bag to suffocate Page. However, the assault was interrupted by Darby Allin appearing on video from the summit of Mount Everest, stating that he would take everything from Moxley. At this point a masked Bryan Danielson appeared to take out The Deathriders before Allin descended from the top of the stadium.
After Danielson and Allin dispatched The Deathriders, Page hit a Deadeye onto Moxley through a table, but Moxley was helped to his feet by Shafir. The Bucks then appeared and attacked Page, bringing in the aforementioned bed of nails into the fight. Page was driven into the bed of nails but was able to make it up before the 10 count. Swerve Strickland then appeared to take out The Bucks and handed a chain to his old rival. Page used the chain to choke out Moxley, forcing the World Champion to tap in a callback from their match at Revolution 2022.
Page retrieved the title from the briefcase and celebrated as the show came to a close.
Adam Page Is The New World Champion!
The victory brings Moxley’s reign to an end at 273 days. Moxley won the championship back at WrestleDream 2024 by defeating Bryan Danielson. Since then, the title was kept in a briefcase and not seen onscreen for the next 9 months.
Page first won the championship back at Full Gear 2021, defeating Kenny Omega. “Hangman” earned the opportunity to challenge for the title by defeating Will Ospreay in the finals of the Owen Hart Tournament in the main event of Double or Nothing.
