Kevin Knight defended the TNT Championship and more on the August 12 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Still looking to be a fighting champion and to prove he was worthy of the main event, Kevin Knight put his TNT Championship on the line against Chris Jericho. Additionally, following his return to AEW and looking to win back the World Title, MJF made his return to action. The multi-time World Champion was part of a 3-way match which would see the winner enter the Casino Gauntlet match in the number two spot.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Paul Wight were on commentary for the show.

Ospreay called out Omega, but instead was interrupted by Don Callis. Callis spoke about his relationship with Omega, the good and bad, and how Callis was the one who brought Ospreay into AEW.
