Malakai Black will be appearing on next month’s PROGRESS UK tour in what will be his first appearance since leaving WWE.
PROGRESS announced on August 12 that Black would be appearing on the Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester legs of the tour, which will take place from September 4-6, respectively. The UK promotion hyped up Black’s return on social media:
One of the biggest names in professional wrestling is coming to Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester for his first matches back on the independent wrestling scene!
He’s held gold in every major company he’s set foot in and returns to PROGRESS with one major goal…
Black’s opponents for the shows have not been announced at this time. The UK promotion, which is now owned by Nikki Cross and Big Damo, will also be making stops in Bournemouth and Birmingham as part of the UK tour.
The former Aleister Black was released from WWE shortly after WrestleMania 42, bringing his second stint in the company to an end at just over a year. Blacks most notable storyline was a feud with Damian Priest, which saw Black align with his wife, Zelina Vega as part of the rivalry.
After becoming a free agent in late July, Black put out a video showing a new bald look, indicating that an announcement was coming soon. Black also looks to be using his AEW name moving forward.
This is the only independent date Black has been announced for.
Malakai Black Returning To PROGRESS Wrestling
Previously known as Tommy End, the Dutch wrestler competed in 31 matches for PROGRESS from 2013-2017. As well as winning the 2016 Super Strong Style 16 tournament, Black held the Tag Team Championships with Michael Dante.
