AEW Dynamite presented its homecoming special on January 10th.
The show was broadcast live from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, the site of multiple episodes of AEW programming during the pandemic era of professional wrestling.
Samoa Joe was announced ahead of time to appear live to bring in the new era of AEW with himself as World Champion. Multiple massive multi-person matches and Sting competing were also announced ahead of time.
The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:
- Adam Page defeated Claudio Castagnoli
- Preston Vance, Adam Copeland, Dustin Rhodes and Orange Cassidy defeated Brian Cage, Lance Archer and The Gates of Agony
- Samoa Joe appeared live for the first time as World Champion. Joe was quickly interrupted by Hook, Adam Page and Swerve Strickland as they all want to be the first challenger for Joe.
- Sammy Guevara defeated Ricky Starks
- Anna Jay, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale and Thunder Rosa defeated Skye Blue, Saraya, Julia Hart and Ruby Soho
- Roderick Strong defeated Bryan Keith
- Sting and Darby Allin defeated Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs. After the match, Sting was asked about his final opponent at Revolution, to which The Young Bucks interrupted.
