The return of Kenny Omega, the fallout from the Tony Khan attack and more took place on AEW Dynamite.
Airing live from Winnipeg, Canada, hometown hero Kenny Omega was advertised to make his highly-anticipated return to AEW. Omega had been battling Diverticulitis since December 2023.
On the April 24th episode of Dynamite, Tony Khan was attacked by The Young Bucks and Jack Perry. Not able to travel, Khan remained in Jacksonville and addressed the attack.
The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:
- Tony Khan began an address from Jacksonville, Florida but was cut off by The Young Bucks, who stated that they would be running the show. The Bucks played their own custom opening titles.
- Swerve Strickland addressed Double or Nothing and asked who his opponent would be for Double or Nothing. The Bucks appeared live and revealed that his opponent would be Christian Cage. Cage and The Patriarchy attacked Strickland and Prince Nana.
- Adam Copeland defeated Buddy Matthews to retain the TNT Championship
- Samoa Joe defeated Isiah Kassidy
- Orange Cassidy addressed the parking lot brawl between Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta from Rampage the previous week. Cassidy tried to attack Bertetta but was led away by security and Don Callis
- Chris Jericho defeated Katsuyori Shibata to retain the FTW Championship
- Claudio Castagnoli defeated Brian Cage
- Serena Deeb defeated Mariah May
- Kenny Omega made his return and announced that he was 24 hours away from death when he was battling diverticulitis. Omega said he is not cleared yet before being interrupted by Kazuchika Okada. The Elite tried to attack Omega but was chased away by FTR.
