A major return, a title match and more have been announced for AEW Dynamite.
Kenny Omega has been sidelined with diverticulitis since December 2023. For the first time in 4 months, Omega will return to Dynamite, which will air live in his hometown of Winnipeg. With Omega last referenced as being “fired” by The Elite, the former World Champion is expected to address this.
On the April 24th Dynamite, Tony Khan was attacked by Jack Perry and The Elite. Still wearing a neck brace, the latest storyline update is that Khan has been advised not to travel to Canada for the tapings. With this in mind, it is unknown who will be running the show.
New FTW Champion Chris Jericho will defend the title on Dynamite. Jericho’s opponent on the show will be Katsuyori Shibata.
At AEW Dynasty, Swerve Strickland became the new AEW World Champion. Set to defend the title at Double or Nothing on May 26th, Strickland’s opponent for the pay-per-view will be revealed. Following on from his loss at AEW Dynasty to The House of Black, TNT Champion Adam Copeland will defend the title against one of the members of the group on Dynamite.
