AEW has announced the 16 men who will be fighting for the Continental Cup in the lead-up to All In at the end of the month.
A selection special aired on August 3, which revealed all 16 entrants in the knockout tournament. The concept is inspired by the FA Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in English football. Continental Champion Jon Moxley and announcer Nigel McGuinness were confirmed as entrants when the cup was first announced, with the remaining 14 names being as follows:
- AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley
- Nigel McGuinness
- Jay White
- Brian Cage
- Kyle O’Reilly
- Katsuyori Shibata
- Matt Sydal
- Hechicero
- Roderick Strong
- David Finlay
- Jack Perry
- Claudio Castagnoli
- Orange Cassidy
- Ace Austin
- Jake Doyle
- Eddie Kingston
The selection special also confirmed that the first round matches will take place over the next three episodes of TV. Much like the FA Cup, there is no tournament bracket. Instead, the winners of the first round matches will go into a draw to have their next opponent drawn at random.
