Adam Page is back in AEW and could be set for a major match at Wembley Stadium.
Making his return on the July 3rd edition of AEW Dynamite, Page was revealed to be The Young Bucks’ hand-picked wildcard in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. The former World Champion defeated Jeff Jarrett in the opening round and advanced to the semi-finals on the July 6th episode of Collision, where he will take on Jay White. The winner of that match will advance to the final on July 10th and take on Bryan Danielson. The winner of the tournament will challenge Swerve Strickland for the World Championship in the main event of All In.
After cutting a passionate promo on Collision about his relationship with the late Owen Hart, Jarrett became an emotional fan favourite and saw many hope that Jarrett would progress further in the tournament. The match saw Page hit 2 Dead Eyes to advance and showed more heelish tendencies, as was pointed out on commentary.
Adam Page & Swerve Strickland’s History
Page and Strickland are very familiar with one another after going to war in 2023, in particular, the violent Texas Death Match at Full Gear. Additionally, with both men involved in the world title match back at Revolution, Page seemingly intentionally lost to Samoa Joe to prevent Strickland from becoming champion on the night. With the prospect of the rivalry being renewed inside a packed Wembley Stadium, there is a strong chance that Page has just become the new favourite to win the tournament.
