Adam Copeland made his long-awaited return to AEW, and looks ready to reunite with an old friend.

The Rated R Superstar made the shock appearance at All In: Texas on July 12 to save Christian Cage from an assault from The Patriarchy. Cage teamed with Nick Wayne to unsuccessfully challenge The Hurt Syndicate for the Tag Team Championships, which saw the champions retain their titles. After the match, Wayne, Kip Sabian and Mama Wayne betrayed the leader of the group and were joined by FTR in the ring. As it appeared that Cage was about to be hit with a con-chair-to, Metalingus by Alter Bridge played through Globe Life Field in Texas.

Cope ran to the ring with a spiked 2×4 in hand and fought off the heels to stand tall. Afterwards, Cope told Cage to “go find yourself” and left his former rival in the ring. It was previously reported that the Cage and Cope reunion was on the cards, potentially set to lead to a match at All In, but plans were changed to the tag title bout.

One of the most popular tag teams during The Attitude Era, Cope and Christian won the Tag Team Titles 7 times and were one of 3 teams that defined the TLC match. With both men approaching the end of their in-ring careers, a reunion was expected to take place.

Adam Copeland Back In AEW Following Previous Assault

The Hall of Famer was last seen at Dynasty when he was attacked by FTR following the trio’s loss to The Deathriders. In a social media post during his hiatus, Adam Copeland also acknowledged that he is close to the end of his in-ring career.
