John Cena To Have A Match On 30/12 SmackDown

Cena Clause is coming to town!

John Cena will be competing on the December 30th episode of SmackDown, reaming with Kevin Owens to take on Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. The announcement was made on the December 16th edition of the blue brand, where earlier in the show, Roman Reigns pitched to WWE Adam Pearce a match between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn vs. Owens and a partner of Owens’ choice.

Later in the show, The Bloodline were together in the ring. As Roman Reigns began to describe the group’s Kevin Owens problem, Cena would appear on the big screen. The 16 time world champion stated that everyone loves a holiday surprise, then referencing a text message sent by Owens to Cena. The Prize Fighter informed The Peacemaker star that he has had a match every year since 2002, but is yet to have a match this year, before asking if Cena would like to team with the former Universal Champion. Cena agreed to the match, making the match on December 30th official.

Back in the ring, Reigns seemed to enjoy the announcement, with Zayn looking more concerned at the realisation that he would have to face off against the WWE legend.

John Cena was initially announced to appear on the last SmackDown of 2022 on December 9th. This will be Cena’s second appearance of the year, with the other celebrating 20 years to the day since the iconic debut.
