Finals Set For The SmackDown World Cup

The two finalists for the SmackDown World Cup were determined on the November 25th edition of the blue brand, with Santos Escobar and Ricochet fighting on December 2nd for the trophy and a future opportunity at the Intercontinental Championship.

In the opening match of the show, semi-final 1 would take place, with Santos Escobar taking on Butch. Escobar would win the match as Butch was distracted by backstage footage of Butch’s WarGames teammates Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre being distracted backstage. Butch would send Ridge Holland and Sheamus to the back, but Zelina Vega would also distract the referee. This was enough for Escobar to win the match and advance to the final.

Later on in the show, Braun Strowman would face Ricochet in the other semi-final. Strowman would mock Ricochet for his smaller size, but Ricochet would use his agility to fight back. The match would end when Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER and Imperium would come to ringside, with the distraction allowing Ricochet to roll up Strowman and pick up the victory.
