AEW Full Gear 2022 Predictions

The AEW Full Gear pay-per-view will be taking place on Saturday November 17th in Newark, New Jersey. At the time of writing, 11 matches have been announced to take place, with 7 of those seeing championships defended on the show. Below are Features of Wrestling’s prediction for the event:

The Acclaimed (c) vs. Swerve in Our Glory – Tag Team match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships:

Champions The Acclaimed are as over as they have ever been going into the pay-per-view. While Max Caster and Anthony Bowens have great chemistry as a team, the tension between Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland is still prominent. The current path for the tag team championships appears to be FTR next challenging for the championships, possibly at Winter is Coming. The biggest match that can take place in the current tag team division is The Acclaimed vs. FTR. Expect Lee and Strickland to implode and for The Acclaimed to retain the championships.

Winners: The Acclaimed

Toni Storm (c) vs. Jamie Hayter – Singles match for the Interim AEW Women’s Championship:

Toni Storm has held onto the championship since All Out, currently taking the role as Interim Champion while Thunder Rosa is dealing with an injury. Hayter has been building momentum in the past few months, establishing herself as a breakout star in the women’s division. This feels like Hayter’s time, with a new champion being crowned as a result of multiple interferences.

Winner: Jamie Hayter

Jade Cargill (c) vs. Nyla Rose – Singles match for the TBS Championship:

Jade Cargill is still undefeated and has yet to be dethroned as the first ever TBS Champion. This doesn’t feel like this will change at Full Gear. Cargill will regain possession of her title and will defeat Nyla Rose on the show.

Winner: Jade Cargill

Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal vs. Sting and Darby Allin:

While this match will get a great ovation when Sting and Jarrett stand across from the ring from each other in the match, Allin and Lethal will be doing most of the work in this match. Lethal and Jarrett have been dominant throughout the episodes of Dynamite leading up to the pay-per-view, with Jarrett yet to get physical in AEW apart from a single guitar shot. Allin and Sting will get their revenge at Full Gear.

Winners: Sting and Darby Allin

Luchasaurus vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry – Steel Cage match:

This will be the feelgood match of the show. The odds will be stacked against Perry with both the size advantage of Luchasaurus and Christian Cage providing interference. However, Perry will overcome the odds to put this rivalry to an end.

Winner: Jack Perry

Wardlow (c) vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Samoa Joe – 3 way match for the TNT Championship:

This will be a match full of big moves and the potential for big crashes. Each man will get to show their power and agility, with the potential for multiple powerbombs from the champion. Despite there being two challengers, Wardlow will still retain the title.

Winner: Wardlow

Death Triangle (c) vs. The Elite – Trios match for the AEW Trios Championship:

The Elite will be making their official return to AEW at Full Gear following the investigation of the events that took place following the All Out pay-per-view. As The Elite were stripped of the titles before their reign could officially begin, expect AEW to revert back to their original plans now that Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks are back. The Elite will most likely win this match and reclaim their championships.

Winner: The Elite

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D vs. Saraya:

This will be Saraya’s first match in AEW and her first match since returning from retirement back in 2017. Many will be interested in the match to see how Saraya will perform in the ring following the 5 year absence, and how physical will the match will be. While this is Saraya’s debut match in AEW, Baker is the established star of the women’s division. Expect Baker to walk out with the victory at Full Gear.

Winner: Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Chris Jericho (c) vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Claudio Castagnoli – 4 way match for the Ring of Honor World Championship

With the level of talent in this match, this has the highest potential to be the best match of the night. While respective Blackpool Combat Club and Jericho Appreciation Society members will take sides at the start, the alliances will break down quickly. Despite the odds being heavily stacked against Chris Jericho, the champion will retain here. Jericho will be holding onto the title until at least the Final Battle pay-per-view on Saturday November 10th, being the big star to sell tickets and pay-per-view buys for the event.

Winner : Chris Jericho

Jon Moxley (c) vs. MJF – Singles match for the AEW World Championship:

MJF has been heavily speculated to be crowned the new AEW World Champion at Full Gear, and while he will be a future World Champion, it won’t happen at Full Gear. MJF has repeatedly said he wants to earn his world championship victory and do it the right way. Expect MJF to try and win the title the right way, possibly being torn to cheat, but that will be his downfall. A rematch on Dynamite will see MJF use underhanded tactics to become the champion at a later date.

Winner: Jon Moxley
