Jon Moxley will be the AEW representative at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view to crown an Interim AEW World Champion.
The June 8th edition of AEW Dynamite opened with a Casino Battle Royale, which was won by Kyle O’Reilly, who last eliminated Wheeler Yuta. The victory meant that O’Reilly would face Jon Moxley in the main event of the show, as Moxley is currently the number one ranked competitor in the World Title rankings.
Following a hard hitting match in the main event, Moxley would hit the Death Rider Brainbuster to pick up the pinfall victory.
At Forbidden Door, Jon Moxley will face either Hiroshi Tanahashi or Hirooki Goto at Forbidden Door with the winner being crowned the Interim AEW World Champion. This is the second match officially signed for the crossover pay-per-view. The other match announced will see the inaugural AEW All Atlantic Champion crowned.
