Scorpio Sky defeated Sammy Guevara on the March 9th episode of AEW Dynamite to become the new TNT Champion.

Guevara defended the title against Sky in the main event of Dynamite. Ethan Page and Dan Lambert were at ringside throughout, and ultimately contributed to the result. Guevara brought a table into play early in the match, attempting to drive Sky through it. However, The Spanish God attempted to hit a 630, but Scorpio Sky moved out of the way, Guevara going through the table as a result.

Sammy Guevara’s girlfriend Tay Conti came to ringside to check on the condition of the now former TNT Champion, who was selling injuries to the midsection following the table bump. Both Conti and officials attempted to help Sammy Guevara to the back, but Guevara refused the offer an went back to the ring.

The finish of the match saw Paige VanZant, who was watching from the crowd, jump the guardrail and attack Tay Conti. This distracted Sammy Guevara long enough for Scorpio Sky to hit the TKO and win the TNT Championship.

This victory marks the second championship won by Scorpio Sky in AEW. Along with the TNT Title, Sky was the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champion with Frankie Kazarian.

Scorpio Sky’s first challenger for the title has already been decided. Wardlow was victorious in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match at the Revolution pay-per-view, earning a future opportunity at the TNT Championship.
