The December 24th edition of Friday Night SmackDown will air from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Due to the episode taking place on Christmas Eve, the episode was pre-taped, with the tapings taking place following the December 17th edition of the blue brand.
Taking place on the show will see a title defended, as Charlotte Flair will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Toni Storm. This will take place due to Storm being victorious in a championship contenders match earlier in the month.
Multiple festive themed matches will also be taking place on the show, with one having championship implications. WWE have announced a “12 Days of Christmas” 12 man gauntlet match, where the winner will receive an opportunity at the Intercontinental Championship in the future.
The following matches will be taking place on the Christmas Eve SmackDown:
- “12 Days of Christmas” 12 man gauntlet match. The winner will receive a future shot at the Intercontinental Championship. The participants are Drew Gulak, Mansoor, Erik, Ivar, Shanky, Jinder Mahal, Ricochet, Sheamus, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Angel, and Humberto.
- The New Day and Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss and The Usos – Miracle on 34th Street Fight.
- Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Toni Storm – Singles match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
