Fans will soon able to attend NXT UK tapings again for the first time in nearly 18 months. A select group of fans will be in-person at BT Studios in London on Wednesday October 6th and Thursday October 7th to witness the upcoming tapings. The first episode to feature live fans will air on the WWE Network on Thursday October 14th.
NXT UK have also promised a big main event to welcome back fans as the NXT UK Championship will be defended at the tapings. A press release by NXT UK states the following:
“NXT UK is set to welcome back fans to the BT Sport Studio starting Thursday, October 14, airing at 3pm ET / 8pm BST on Peacock in the US and WWE Network everywhere else. Marking the first return of a crowd to NXT UK in almost 18 months, the episode will see Ilja Dragunov defend his NXT UK Championship against A-Kid.”Source: Wrestle Zone
Fans returning to NXT UK means that all WWE owned promotions will have live fans in attendance moving forward. When the COVID 19 pandemic locked the world down in March 2020, WWE made the decision to hold their events with no fans in attendance. However, unlike Raw, SmackDown and NXT, the NXT UK promotion was stopped entirely, as opposed to using a virtual fan setup. NXT UK resumed their broadcast on September 17th 2021.
As with most events currently taking place within the UK, proof of double vaccination or a negative COVID test will be required to gain entry. Fans will also be required to wear masks for the duration of the event.
