A WWE Championship match will kick-off the September 27th episode of Monday Night RAW. Champion Big E will face Bobby Lashley at the start of the show in the first defence from The New Day member since winning the title.

The start of the Extreme Rules pay per view saw a 6 man tag match with The New Day facing off against the team of AJ Styles, Omos and Bobby Lashley. The match ended with the WWE Champion pinning Bobby Lashley.

After the match, an incensed Bobby Lashley stated that he was unhappy with the way that Big E won the title by cashing in his Money in The Bank briefcase. The Almighty demanded a rematch to claim back his WWE Championship.

Later in the pay per view, Big E accepted the challenge laid down by Bobby Lashley. The New Day member said he would meet Lashley in the ring at 8pm sharp, kicking off the Extreme Rules fallout edition of Monday Night RAW.
