Omos made a long-awaited in-ring return, but not for WWE.
The former Tag Team Champion was revealed as a surprise entrant in the AAA Triplemania XXXIII Copa Bardhal Battle Royal on August 16 and went on to win the match. Entering the match in the second-to-last spot, Omos eliminated multiple competitors, including La Parka to win the prestigious trophy in the opening match of the show. The most notable spot which has since gone viral on social media, saw the 7-foot-3 wrestler face off with the 3-foot-3 microman, who the WWE star dropped with a big boot.
Other names who also competed in the match included Laredo Kid, Joaquin Wilde, Abismo Negro, Taurus, Aerostar, Mecha Wolf, Cruz Del Toro, Cibernetico, Otis, and Octagon Jr, who was the winner of last year’s Copa Bardahl.
The victory was also Omos’ first match since January 2025, which saw The Nigerian Giant finish up his run in Pro Wrestling NOAH, which saw him and Jack Morris capture the GHC Tag Team Championships.
When Will Omos Return To A WWE Ring?
While many fans in Mexico and around the world were happy to see Omos back in action, there have still been calls to see the WWE star compete more in the promotion that he has signed to. The former Tag Team Champion last competed in a WWE ring on the WrestleMania 40 go-home SmackDown back in 2024 as part of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
