The fallout from Clash in Paris continued and more on the September 5 episode of WWE SmackDown.
After defeating Logan Paul in Paris, John Cena appeared live for what looks set to be his final SmackDown appearance just over 23 years after his debut on the blue brand. With Cena vs. Brock Lesnar heavily rumoured for Wrestlepalooza on September 20, it is expected that this will be addressed on the show.
Also at Clash in Paris, CM Punk lost his match in the main event after being hit with a low blow by Becky Lynch and being berated by The Man the following night on Raw. With SmackDown airing live in Chicago, Punk will be making an appearance.
Additionally, new United States Champion Sami Zayn appeared live one week on from defeating Solo Sikoa in France to win the title for the first time in his career.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on commentary for the show.
