Multiple confrontations, a number one contenders match and more took place on WWE SmackDown.
With Cody Rhodes and Gunther set to face off at Crown Jewel, the top champions both appeared live to meet face to face to continue the build to their match in Saudi Arabia, which will see the first Crown Jewel Champion crowned when The American Nightmare and The Ring General compete on PLE for the first time. Additionally, Randy Orton called out Triple H, which saw a rare appearance from the Chief Content Officer.
The Motor City Machine Guns were also in action, looking to become the new number one contenders to the Tag Team Championships.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:
- Randy Orton spoke about the recent attacks from Kevin Owens and called Triple H to the ring. Paul Levesque stated that he would not make the match as he was protecting Randy Orton from Kevin Owens, not the other way around. The match between Orton and Owens was later made official for Crown Jewel, with Triple H once again issuing a warning to Orton
- Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes ended in a no contest when special referee LA Knight took out both competitors
- Naomi defeated Candice LeRae
- Gunther and Cody Rhodes met face to face. With things boiling over, Rhodes attacked Gunther before Ludwig Kaiser came to the aid of The Ring General. Orton made the save for Rhodes
- Motor City Machine Guns defeated DIY to become the new number one contenders to the Tag Team Championships
- MCMG faced The Bloodline immediately and won the Tag Team Championships thanks to interference from Jey Uso
- Jimmy and Jey Uso looked to be on the same page as the show went off the air.
