Continuing the fallout from a very newsworthy SummerSlam, the August 9th edition of SmackDown focused on the fallout from the event, with the biggest news being the long-awaited return of Roman Reigns. Additionally, multiple number-one contenders were crowned and a new match was made official for WWE Bash in Berlin.

The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:

  • Following a recap of SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes opened the show. The American Nightmare addressed his victory at SummerSlam before turning his attention to Bash in Berlin. Solo Sikoa interrupted and was flanked by The Bloodline. Kevin Owens arrived with a chair to provide backup and was named as the challenger for Bash in Berlin
  • The Street Profits defeated A-Town Down Under
  • Jade Cargill defeated Alba Fyre
  • LA Knight celebrated his US Title victory before being interrupted by Santos Escobar. This led into Escobar’s match against Andrade. Escobar won and is the new number one contender to the US Championship
  • DIY defeated Pretty Deadly
  • Roman Reigns made his return to SmackDown after being called out by Solo Sikoa. Reigns took out The Bloodline and attempted to retrieve the ulafala before being attacked by The Bloodline again. Reigns stood tall but Sikoa escaped with the ulafala.
