Night one of the WWE Draft takes place and more on WWE SmackDown.
The WWE Draft officially begins on SmackDown with the first selections taking place on the show. It has been announced that SmackDown will get the first pick and the rosters will not be exclusive until the May 6th episode of Raw. Also, champions will stay on their respective brands. Announcing the pools ahead of time, the following Superstars are available for selection on the show:

- Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri)
- Andrade
- Bianca Belair
- Bron Breakker
- Cedric Alexander and Ashante “Thee” Adonis

- Liv Morgan
- Nia Jax
- Randy Orton
- Ricochet
- Seth Rollins
- Shayna Baszler
- Sheamus
- The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, “MFT” Tama Tonga and Paul Heyman)
- The O.C. (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Michin)
- Zoey Stark
- * NXT Superstars will be eligible to be drafted.
At Backlash on May 4th, AJ Styles will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship. To make the match official, a contract signing will take place on the show.
