Presenting the final build to Clash in Paris, the August 29 episode of WWE SmackDown aired live from Lyon France with multiple championship matches and more taking place on the show.
With WWE returning to France for Clash in Paris on August 31, the blue brand focused on the upcoming show with a live appearance from John Cena ahead of his match against Logan Paul at the Premium Live Event. Additionally, Sami Zayn challenged Solo Sikoa for the United States Championship in the main event.
Michael Cole and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show, which live for international viewers but would be broadcast on tape delay for viewers in the United States,
WWE SmackDown Live Results August 29:
- Following the introductions, Logan Paul officially kicked off the show, and was met with heavy boos from the French fans. Paul berated the fans and John Cena before being interrupted by Cena. he former WWE Champion called out Paul for making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Paul made fun of Cena, but Cea noted that he had 24 hours to get ready for him.
- Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair vs. The Secret Hervice was turned into a singles match between Bliss and Green due to Flair being attacked. Bliss defeated Green but was attacked after the match. Flair tried to make the save but was also laid out.
- WWE referenced that Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes welcomed their second child into the world.
- Michin defeated Kiana James.
- Drew McIntyre called out Randy Orton, who eventually made his entrance. McIntyre tried to drive a wedge between Orton and Rhodes, but Orton was having none of it. McIntyre tried to attack Orton but Orton got the upper hand. Orton treid to hit the RKO, but officials intevened. Shane Helms was hit with the RKO.
- The Street Profits defeated The Miz and Carmelo Hayes, earning them a tag team title match at Clash in Paris.
- Sami Zayn defeated Solo Sikoa to become the new United States Champion
