WWE Reaction To Netflix Issues During Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Are there concerns in WWE following on from the major technical issues that took place during the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight?

Is WWE concerned about the numerous issues that plagued Netflix during the highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson?

On Friday, November 15th, the YouTube star and boxing icon finally met in the ring after their fight was previously delayed. Broadcast around the world via Netflix, the fight will easily be the most-watched contest in 2024. As for the event itself, many found it to be a massive disappointment on many levels.

Along with the lacklustre main event that saw many fans booing and leaving the venue early, issues with Netflix were reported throughout the night. Fans stated that buffering was a constant issue along with Netflix also crashing for others. With the match being a live broadcast, WWE fans were understandably worried by the technical issues that plagued the broadcast.

On January 6th, Raw will be broadcast worldwide live on Netflix for the first time and will remain on the platform for at least five years. With this in mind, fans are concerned that the same issue could happen and that major moments from the upcoming show will be missed.

WWE Responds To Netflix Issues

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported on an internal response to the technical difficulties. The report states that WWE has been assured that any streaming issues “would be kept to a minimum” and that if Raw was able to receive the kind of traffic that Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson did then it would be “a good problem to have.” It is also pointed out that the live Love is Blind finale also faced issues when it was broadcast.

Netflix reported that more than 60 million households watched the fight.
