WWE RAW Sees Ratings Increase Following Money In The Bank

The ratings are in for the Money in the Bank fallout episode of Monday Night RAW. Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is reporting that 1.923 million people tuned in to the show.

This rating is a significant increase on the previous week. The go-home episode had a viewership of 1.609 million viewers, meaning that the most recent episode has seen an increase of almost 20%. The important 18 – 49 demographic has also seen a significant increase. The demographic rating was a 0.57, over a 30% increase from the previous week of 0.43 [Demographic numbers obtained from F4W Online].

The July 19th episode of RAW was predicted to draw a better rating for a number of reasons. Firstly, this RAW was the first episode of the red brand top have live fans in over a year. WWE also had a big draw ahead of the show by promoting the return of John Cena to TV. Cena opened the show to explain that he is back to challenge Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

WWE kept fans interested throughout the night with a newsworthy show featuring surprise returns and debuts. NXT Champion Karrion Kross and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg both made appearances on the show. RAW ended with a Money in the Bank cash-in and Nikki A.S.H. becoming the new RAW Women’s Champion.

It will be interesting to see if WWE can keep this momentum moving forward towards SummerSlam in August and beyond now that a live audience is back in arenas.
