A new tournament began to determine Roman Reigns’ next challenger and more took place on the August 10 edition of WWE Raw in Norfolk, Virginia.
It was previously announced that an 8-man tournament featuring the best luchadors from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT would compete to determine who would challenge Roman Reigns for the World Championship in Mexico City in September. The tournament began on Raw as Penta faced Laredo Kid.
Additionally, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez faced Sol Ruca and a partner of her choosing.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on commentary for the show.
WWE Raw Results August 10:
- Following a recap of the Roman Reigns segments from the previous week, Solo Sikoa interrupted commentary. Jey Uso interrupted Sikoa. Uso told Sikoa to fall in line, leading Sikoa to question how well that worked out for Uso. Uso reminded Uso that he went from winning the World Title to Roman Reigns’ lackey again. This set up a match for later that night between the two. If Uso won, Sikoa had to join The Bloodline. If Sikoa won, The Bloodline had to leave him alone.
- Penta defeated Laredo Kid to advance in the Roman Reigns tournament.
- Austin Theory defeated Akira Tozawa. It appeared that The Vision looked to continue the assault after the match, but Oba Femi made the save.
- Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch appeared live and each staked their claim to being next in line for Liv Morgan’s title. Morgan attacked Lynch, but The Man fought the champion off.
- Dragon Lee defeated Dominik Mysterio. Big Cass attacked Dragon Lee after the match. Je’Von Evans tried to make the save, but was also attacked.
- Sol Ruca and her mystery partner IYO SKY defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
- Jey Uso defeated Solo Sikoa, meaning that Sikoa needs to join The Bloodline.
