WWE presented a special edition of Raw on January 1st.
Reviving the Day 1 branding, the New Year’s Day WWE Raw was presented as a monumental night with multiple title matches and the promise of a former WWE Champion making their return on the show.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE Raw
- Michael Cole and Wade Barrett stood in the ring to kick off the show and run down the card for the evening.
- Nia Jax defeated Becky Lynch
- Cody Rhodes called out Shinsuke Nakamura, who responded via video message, stating that he would face Rhodes on January 8th.
- Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso vs. Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser ended due to referee stoppage
- Following a Miz TV segment, The Miz and R-Truth defeated Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh
- Rhea Ripley defeated Ivy Nile to retain the Women’s World Championship
- The former WWE Champion who made their return on Raw was initially revealed to be Jinder Mahal, who was interrupted by The Rock. Following The Rock insulting and laying out Mahal, The Great One called out Roman Reigns.
- Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark defeated Natalya and Tegan Nox to become the new number one contenders to the Women’s Tag Team Championships
- Seth Rollins defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the World Heavyweight Championship
