Randy Orton will be out of action until further notice.
For a number of weeks, Orton has been looking to get revenge on Kevin Owens after Owens attacked his former friend backstage. Despite a prior warning from Triple H, Orton demanded that he get a match against Owens at Crown Jewel, which was reluctantly made official by Triple H. The match itself never got started with both men brawling and Owens eventually standing tall.
On the November 8th SmackDown, Orton once again demanded Owens come out and face him, leading to another brawl between the SmackDown stars. In a shocking move by Owens, Orton was hit with a piledriver and was stretchered out of the arena. Commentary put over the attack big as they reiterated that the move was banned.
In a follow-up on social media, WWE stated that Orton suffered damage to his cervical cord and there is no indication as to when he will return:
“Randy Orton has been diagnosed with a cervical cord neurapraxia, following a vicious attack on SmackDown from Kevin Owens,” their statement reads. “There is no timetable on his return.”

Beginning with an unprovoked attack on Cody Rhodes, Owens turned his attention to Orton and would be repeatedly silenced when he tried to explain himself on TV. Left with no other choice, Kevin Owens spoke out on social media about the disrespect and betrayal from Randy Orton.
