WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has not ruled out going for the top title one more time before hanging up his boots for good.
The legendary luchador has won every championship and just about every accolade there is to achieve in WWE. Mysterio has also found success around the world in promotions such as AAA and Lucha Underground.
However, with more than 30 years of wear and tear on his body and very much approaching the final years of his career, is a World Championship run still on the cards for the master of the 619?
Speaking with MuscleManMalcolm, Mysterio responded that if the opportunity is put in front of him, he will take it:
“Man, you never know. Never say never. I think I’ve proven myself to still be able to compete whoever they put in front of me. So I’m down to have another title run. Just put it in front of me and I’ll take advantage of it. Trust me.”
Rey Mysterio Has Won The World Title Multiple Times In WWE
Mysterio is a 3-time World Champion in WWE. The first win came at WrestleMania 22 when he won the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match. Mysterio earned the opportunity after winning the Royal Rumble earlier that year. Mysterio won the big gold belt a second time in 2010 in a fatal 4 way match.
Mysterio’s one and only reign as WWE Champion came in 2011 after CM Punk “left” the company following his win at Money in the Bank that year. However, later that night, Mysterio defended and lost the championship to John Cena.
Rey Mysterio re-signed with WWE in 2023.
