WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will defend his title in a triple threat match at WWE WrestleMania Backlash. The match was originally meant to be Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre in a singles match. However, on the 26th April episode of RAW, a match was made between McIntyre and Braun Strowman. The stipulation for this match being that if Strowman won, he would be added to the WrestleMania Backlash match.
Following multiple distractions by MACE, T-BAR and the champion himself, Braun picked up the victory. The two current matches confirmed for the May 16th show are as follows:
- Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman – Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship.
- Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley – Singles match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
