Championship Match Announced For WWE Crown Jewel

Big E will defend his Championship against Drew McIntyre at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view on Thursday October 21st. The former WWE Champion issued the challenge to the current champion on the October 4th Raw. Big E accepted the challenge and the match has been made official for the show in Saudi Arabia.

McIntyre has been unable to challenge for the WWE Championship since the events of the Hell in A Cell pay per view back in June. The Scottish Warrior had one final chance to face Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship in a Hell in A Cell match. The added stipulation was that if Drew McIntyre lost the match, he would no longer be able to challenge for the title as long as Lashley held the championship.

Big E became the new WWE Champion following a successful cash-in of his Money in the Bank contract. Following a rematch with Bobby Lashley inside a steel cage on the September 27th RAW, Big E was once again victorious and retained his championship over The All Mighty. Immediately following the victory, McIntyre made his way onto the entrance ramp and stared down Big E as the show went off the air.
