WWE have a different opponent in mind for Roman Reigns.
Not competing at Survivor Series, the next time that Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship will be at the 2024 Royal Rumble. As of November 25th, Reigns has only competed in 11 matches this year.
As seen on episodes of SmackDown following Crown Jewel, where The Tribal Chief successfully defended his title against LA Knight, The Megastar has made it clear that things are far from over. With many expecting a rematch at the Royal Rumble, this appears to not be the case.
As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, head of creative Paul Levesque [Triple H], has another plan for January even though some are against it:
We were told that as of this time Reigns vs. Knight is not the title match at Rumble. That is Reigns’ next match. There are those who feel it should be Knight in that spot but we were told Levesque has another plan right now.
How Did Roman Reigns Retain The WWE Title?
In one of the more underwhelming matches during Reigns’ title reign, Knight had an ok showing in the match itself but once again the match fell to the formula of Bloodline interference, Spear and Reigns wins. While the WWE Universe have been behind Knight for a number of months, the predictable outcome made a lot of fans reluctant to get into the match itself.
