John Cena’s last match will not take place on a WWE Premium Live Event, as a new update has stated that the 2025 PLE calendar will end the month before.
With just 12 dates left on the retirement tour, Cena has just over 4 months left until his in-ring career comes to an official end, which the Hollywood star has promised will be the final time he steps foot in the ring as an active competitor. Although Cena has confirmed that the tour will run right through to December, there are no major shows scheduled for the last month of the year.
Speaking about the event calendar on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that per the agreement between Peacock and WWE, Survivor Series in November will fulfil the agreement for the number of PLEs in 2025. The reason for this is because 2 extra events were added to the schedule with SummerSlam being given an extra night on August 3 and the all-women’s show Evolution back in July.
When Is John Cena’s Last Match?
With there being no major shows set to take place in December, it appears that a Saturday Night’s Main Event special is scheduled for the final month of the year, meaning that both Cena and Goldberg would have retired at the special in 2025. Dave Meltzer previously reported that Saturday, December 13 appears to be the date in question, and is very likely set to take place at The TD Garden in Boston, given that the 17-time World Champion grew up not too far away in West Newbury, MA.
