Triple H Says He Expected Hulk Hogan To Be Booed During Final WWE Raw Appearance

Triple H has commented on the infamous Hulk Hogan appearance on WWE Raw that would turn out to be his last in pro wrestling.

January 6, 2025, was a historic day for WWE as it was the night when Raw premiered on Netflix inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, marking a new era for the flagship show. To mark the occasion, the company loaded the line-up with stars from wrestling’s past and present, including The Undertaker, Roman Reigns, The Rock and Rhea Ripley.

However, while this was supposed to be a night of celebration, one segment did not go to plan. Towards the end of the show, Hulk Hogan’s music played and the Hall of Famer made his way onto the stage alongside Jimmy Hart. As Hogan attempted to cut a promo, the live fans booed Hogan out of the building, so much so that the phrase “crowd booing” showed up on the Netflix subtitles.

The segment hit mainstream news the following day, and became one of the biggest talking points of the show for all the wrong reasons. Hogan never made another live appearance on WWE TV after this, and passed away in July 2025.

Triple H Predicted A Negative Reaction Towards Hulk Hogan

The new series Hulk Hogan: Real American, which features Hogan’s final interview, covers the infamous appearance in the final episode and how it was received by those in WWE and by Hogan himself. Speaking on the docuseries on Netflix, Triple H admitted that he was not exactly surprised about Hogan being booed, citing the location of the show as one of the main factors:

“Did I think he was going to get booed out of the building? Probably. Especially in LA. There’s a different vibe there and a different mentality there.”

The camera then cuts to Hogan, who was very aware of how the crowd were reacting to him:

“I said, ‘Jimmy did you hear all the boos?’ He went, ‘No, they didn’t boo you.’ I said ‘Jimmy.’ The people booed me like crazy.”

Prior to the appearance, Hogan had been heavily on the campaign trail endorsing Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. California has predominantly been a Democratic state. Trump is also a guest in the series, speaking about his friendship with Hogan and how it goes back to the 80s.

Hulk Hogan: Real American is available to stream on Netflix now.
