Trinity [FKA Naomi] Expected To Make WWE Return

Former WWE Superstar Naomi is expected to make a return to the company in the near future.

Currently wrestling in TNA as Trinity and reigning as the Knockouts Champion, the former WWE Women’s Champion is expected to be a free agent in the near future, but the exact date remains unclear.

As reported by Fightful Select, those within WWE were said to be confident that they could get Naomi to return to the company back in 2023. However, there was a hiring freeze at the start of the previous year, which slowed a lot of returns from taking place in the first half of the year. Sources in WWE and Impact have both told Fightful that they expect the Knockout’s Champion to return to the company she departed in 2022 sooner rather than later.

The report concludes with one WWE source telling Fightful “Something huge would have to happen for her to not end up back in WWE sooner than later, but this is a crazy free agent period.”

Why Did Naomi Leave WWE?

In one of the more infamous WWE moments in recent memory, Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out of the company during a live broadcast of Raw. The walkout was very publicly addressed by WWE with the company issuing an official statement on the matter and the Raw announce team directly telling the audience that both wrestlers had been unprofessional with their actions. The move was heavily criticised by fans for the way the situation was handled during the May 2022 broadcast.

It was alleged that Banks and Naomi, who were Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time, had a creative disagreement with management and left the titles of the Head of Talent Relations’ desk before making the shock departure. Naomi and Sasha Banks were suspended and quietly released. Banks would go on to make her shock NPJW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 while Naomi would debut for Impact as Trinity on May 4th 2023. Trinity would win the Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary.
