A notable member of the TNA roster is hoping that one day their wish will come true and they can face off against AJ Styles.
While Styles is now signed to WWE and looks set to end his career in the company he joined back in 2016, fans are very aware that TNA was the promotion where The Phenomenal One first lived up to his moniker. One of the standout performers during the early days of the brand and often having the match of the night, Styles’ matches against the likes of Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Frankie Kazarian and others helped to establish TNA as a legitimate brand.
More than 20 years on from his debut, Styles has proven that he can still go in the ring with many hoping that they will get the chance to face off against the former WWE and TNA World Champion, especially as the 2 promotions are continuing their relationship that allows stars to appear on the opposing brand.
TNA star Mike Santana was recently in the main event of Slammiversary, where he and Joe Hendry both failed to defeat Trick Williams to bring the World Title back to TNA. Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Santana stated that while there are multiple dream matches on the table in TNA, Styles is still at the top of the list:
“AJ Styles. Just especially being put in this position in TNA as being that new guy and the new face, and they call me The Standard and stuff like that. I think it’d be amazing. Of course, there’s other people that I love to work with over there, and I have a lot of people that I know and that I came up on the indies with over there. But to me, AJ is the guy.”
AJ Styles Recently Returned To TNA
For the first time since 2013, Styles appeared in a TNA ring at Slammiversary on July 20. After being heavily teased for the show, The Phenomenal One was confirmed to make an appearance on the go-home episode of Impact. At the Premium Live Event, Styles endorsed Leon Slater, who won the X-Division Championship on the show.
